Innovation has always been one of LEMI’s core values. For us, innovation means designing new solutions, improving people’s wellbeing and, now more than ever, developing products with an increasing focus on environmental sustainability.
We are therefore proud to have secured funding through the Regional FESR 2021–2027 Programme – Research & Innovation Call, promoted by the Lombardy Region and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), for our project dedicated to the experimental development of innovative sustainable massage tables.

A Project Designed for the Future
The aim of the project was to rethink the professional treatment table through a more sustainable design approach, while preserving the values that have distinguished LEMI for over 35 years: quality, ergonomics, design and reliability.
Throughout the research and development process, new construction methods and innovative materials were studied, prototyped and validated, with particular attention paid to reducing environmental impact throughout the product’s entire life cycle.
More Sustainable Materials, the Same High Quality Standards
One of the most significant aspects of the project was the development of a new mattress concept made with environmentally friendly materials.
The project introduced:
- Eco-friendly upholstery materials;
- New highly sustainable foam with more than 90% biodegradable content;
- Carefully selected materials designed to reduce environmental impact without compromising comfort, durability or performance.
The goal was to demonstrate that sustainability and quality can successfully coexist, providing wellness professionals with products that combine outstanding performance, long-lasting durability and greater environmental responsibility.
Innovation, Ergonomics and Sustainability
The project extended well beyond the development of new materials. Research activities also focused on creating ergonomic, modular and multifunctional solutions, integrating advanced systems designed to enhance user comfort and improve product efficiency. The results confirmed the industrial feasibility of the solutions developed, laying a solid foundation for future industrialization and commercialization.
