Four Seasons Hotel – Milan

The Four Seasons Hotel Milan is located in an ancient 15th century convent and opened its doors in 1993. Today, based on a project by the architect Urquiola, the hotel has been profoundly renovated in its common areas, from the halls to the restaurant, to the gardens and the spa.

The renovated spaces artfully balance a fresh new style while preserving the timeless charm and sophisticated beauty of the hotel.

The aim of the restyling project was to respect the history of the hotel and, at the same time, enter into dialogue with the urban context of Milan. The challenge was to reinterpret the space in a contemporary way, with an emphasis on the building’s heritage as expressed in the frescoes that still adorn the cloister today.

Neutral and light colors play with the original frescoes and period elements of the former convent, while the walls have been enriched with bronze inserts and mirrors. Fabrics and screens create an intimate and elegant atmosphere, while the ceiling with rectangular mirror inserts creates a frame within a frame, giving the space a timeless and very recognizable look.

The Spa of the Four Seasons Hotel Milan also opens its doors to external guests who do not stay overnight at the hotel. A key feature of the Spa is the indoor swimming pool, over fourteen meters long and enclosed between the exposed bricks and the historic vaults of the convent in which the hotel stands, from which the wet area develops, in a path that guides the guests to the most intimate and enclosed area, to ensure maximum privacy. There are seven rooms dedicated to treatments, in addition to the exclusive Spa Suite for couples equipped with a Jacuzzi, a steam bath and two Florence beds by Lemi.
